Acer laptops are equipped with a touchpad that functions like a computer mouse. When typing on the laptop, you may accidentally touch the pad and accidentally place the cursor in an arbitrary place of the screen--slowing down your writing. Use Windows Control Panel or special function keys on the Acer Laptop Keyboard to disable the touchpad on the Acer laptop.

          * 3

            Double-click on "Mouse" to open the Mouse Properties" window. Then click on the tab "Device Settings."
          * 4

            Click on "Synaptics TouchPad" in the "Devices" field, and click the "Disable" button.
          * 5
