U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) today said that because of overheating and cracking problems that may cause fire and injury caused to consumers, HP has once again recall 160,000 laptop computer batteries.
In this regard, HP said, with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and other security agencies in charge, HP announced the HP laptop for some number of Hp Laptop battery packs used in the implementation of the voluntary recall and replacement program.
HP said in a statement, urged customers to visit the Web site (http://bpr.hpordercenter.com/HBPR/CN-zh/Default.aspx), verify whether their computer models to recall the list, and the computer uses a Hp Laptop battery pack whether the actual affected. Affected by the plan for HP customers will be eligible and have been proven for each recalled battery pack to obtain a free replacement battery pack.
Hp Laptop battery manufacturers that from July 2007 to May 2008, products manufactured by Hewlett-Packard laptop-specific battery may cause consumers to potential safety hazards. These batteries may overheat, resulting in a fire or burn hazard. "We took this measure as part of our commitment that our notebook customers the highest quality of service, we take the initiative to inform you that this issue and verified ready to replace all the affected batteries." HP's official statement said.
It is reported that HP's May 26, 2011 recall program is May 14, 2009 and October 15 and May 19, 2010 announcement of the expansion.
